Historio de objekto
Deutsch: Am 23. August 1664 erhob Friedrich III. von Dänemark Altona zur Stadt und verlieh ihr ein Wappen. Es zeigt ein Stadttor am Wasser mit offenem Tor, zuerst noch mit geöffnetem Fallgatter, welches später weggelassen wurde. Es soll eine weltoffene Stadt an der Elbe symbolisieren. Die Farben Rot und Silber stehen für Holstein und Blau für die Elbe. Das Wappen wurde zuletzt 1904 vom preußischen König genehmigt.
English: The arms were granted on August 23, 1664 and confirmed in 1904. The arms show a city gate. The terrace in base azure symbolises the Elbe river.
