Robert Hughes (kritikisto)
Robert Studley Forrest Hughes (28a de Julio 1938 - 6a de Aŭgusto 2012) estis aŭstralia artokritikisto, verkisto, kaj produktoro de televidaj dokumentaloj. Lia plej bone vendata The Fatal Shore (1987) estas studo pri la britaj punkolonioj kaj komenca historio de Aŭstralio. Li estis priskribita en 1997 de Robert Boynton de The New York Times kiel "the most famous art critic in the world" (la plej fama artokritikisto en la mondo).[1][2]

Hughes atingis ampleksan agnoskon pro sia libro kaj televida serio pri moderna arto, The Shock of the New, kaj pro sia longdaŭra posteno kiel artokritikisto ĉe la gazeto TIME. Konata pro siaj polemikaj kritikoj pri arto kaj artistoj, Hughes estis ĝenerale konservativa en siaj emoj, kvankam li ne apartenis al partikulara filozofia fako. Li levis kritikismo al nivelo de arto, kaj liaj verkoj estis notitaj pro ties povo kaj eleganto.[2]
