Frank Chapman (ornitologo)
Frank Michler Chapman (12an de junio 1864 – 15an de novembro 1945) estis usona ornitologo kaj pionira verkisto de kampogvidiloj.

Chapman naskiĝis en Okcidenta Englewood, Nov-Ĵerzejo kaj studis en la Altlernejo Englewood.[1] Li eniris la dungistaron de la Usona Muzeo de Natura Historio en 1888 kiel helpanto de Joel Asaph Allen. En 1901 li iĝis Respondeculo pri Mamuloj kaj Birdoj kaj en 1908 Respondeculo pri Birdoj.
Chapman havis la originan ideon por la Kristnaska Birdokalkulo. Li ankaŭ verkis multajn ornitologiajn librojn kiaj Bird Life, Birds of Eastern North America, Bird Studies With a Camera, kaj Life in an Air Castle. Pro lia verko, Distribution of Bird-life in Colombia, li ricevis la medalon Daniel Giraud Elliot el la Usona Nacia Akademio de Sciencoj en 1917.[2]
Chapman havis unu filon, Frank Chapman, Jr., kiu edziĝis al la dramisto Elizabeth Cobb kaj havis filinon, aktorino kaj TV-gravulino Buff Cobb,[3] kaj post divorco edziĝis al mezosoprano operokantistino Gladys Swarthout.
Chapman estis enterigita ĉe la tombejo Brookside, Englewood, Nov-Ĵerzejo.[4]
