La pli juna frato de aktorino Lisa Zane naskiĝis kiel William George Zane Jr. Surbaze de la grekdevena familio, li parolas flue la grekan lingvon. La originala familia nomo estis Zanetakos.
Lia unua grava rolo estis Match, amiko de Biff Tannen, en la unuaj du partoj de la triologio Back to the Future. Ŝi iĝis konata do pro la kasopleniga filmo Titanic (1997), en ki li ludis la arogan Cal Hockley. En la turka filmo Valo de la lupoj - Irako, li estis usona militkrimulo, kontraŭbatalanto de la turka heroo. Li ludis en televidaj serioj Twin Peaks, Boston Public kaj Charmed.
