Christopher Hill
John Edward Christopher HILL (6a de Februaro 1912 – 23a de Februaro 2003) estis angla marksista historiisto kaj akademiulo, specializita en Historio de Anglio de la 17-a jarcento. El 1965 ĝis 1978 li estis lernejestro de la Balliol College, Oksfordo, kie li fakte studis juna. En 1931 feriis en Frajburgo, Germanio, kaj tie li atestis pri la enpovigo de la nazioj. Li gradiĝis pri Moderna historio en 1934. En tiu epoko li fariĝis marksisto kaj aliĝis al la Komunisma Partio de Granda Britio.

En 1935, li pasigis dek monatojn en Moskvo, Sovetunio. Tie li scipovis la rusan kaj studis sovetan historion, partikulare tiun rilatan al Britio.[1] Reveninta al Anglio en 1936, Hill akceptis instrupostenon en la Universitato de Cardiff kaj en tiu epoko li klopofis aliĝi al la Internaciaj Brigadoj por lukti en la Hispana Enlanda Milito sed li estis malakceptita.[2] Anstataŭe, li estis aktiva helpante eŭskajn rifuĝintojn el la milito.[1] Post du jaroj en Cardiff, li revenis al Balliol College en 1938.[1]
